How Much Do Wholesale Fireworks Cost from China?

Compare case packing, supplier MOQs, FOB/CIF terms and landed costs. Use a quote worksheet instead of unsupported wholesale price ranges.

There is no verified universal case price or minimum order for wholesale fireworks from China. Your cost depends on the exact SKU, case packing, order quantity, customization and accepted dangerous-goods route. Compare dated supplier quotes on the same specifications, then add freight, import and inland costs. This guide provides a purchasing worksheet; it does not publish unconfirmed 2026 price ranges or promise a container discount.

How Fireworks Are Priced: FOB per Case

Ask the supplier to state the currency, price per export case and exact count of retail units inside. Packing abbreviations such as “1/4” or “1/8” need a written explanation; do not infer the number of saleable units from an unexplained code. A cheap case can be expensive per unit if it contains fewer products.

For FOB under Incoterms 2020, name the port of shipment and agree what quote line items cover. Risk transfers when the goods are on board at origin. The buyer generally arranges the main carriage and import clearance. For container handover before loading, discuss whether FCA better describes the agreed delivery point.

Factory MOQ, printing MOQ and shipment size are different constraints. A forwarder's minimum economical shipment is not a legal rule setting every factory's MOQ. A supplier can offer a smaller quantity while the route is uneconomical or unavailable. Obtain both the production quote and a DG transport feasibility check.

Container Math: 20ft versus 40ft

Request outer carton dimensions, gross weight and net explosive quantity for every SKU. The maximum workable load depends on the carrier's equipment, weight limits, cargo rules and the physical loading plan, not just nominal container volume. Do not assume a 40ft container takes exactly twice the cases of a 20ft container.

For a preliminary calculation, carton volume in cubic metres is length × width × height in metres. Multiply by the number of cases and sum across SKUs. Have the forwarder validate the stowage plan and applicable restrictions. This calculation estimates space; it does not authorize loading.

Landed cost per saleable unit = (goods + origin charges outside the quote + ocean freight + insurance + duties/taxes + destination charges + inland delivery + inspection/storage costs) ÷ saleable units. Use expected saleable units after agreed rejection allowances, and avoid counting a charge twice if the quoted trade term already includes it.

LCL is not an option to assume for fireworks. Ask a qualified DG forwarder whether consolidation is accepted for the actual products, ports and carrier. Compare only executable routes; a cheap freight estimate that excludes Class 1 acceptance is not a useful price.

OEM / Custom Packaging: What It Costs

Separate development costs from recurring product costs. Ask who owns the artwork, who pays for corrected labels, whether the MOQ is per design or per SKU, and what happens to unused printed packaging. Confirm warning-label review before authorizing a print run. Changes to a device may also require a fresh compliance or transport-document review.

Hidden Costs and FOB versus CIF

Budget DG surcharges, inspection, terminal handling, broker services, entry-related charges and warehouse delivery. Obtain current duty and tariff advice from your broker for the actual product and entry date. Add a contingency for storage or demurrage if cargo is held; do not use an unsupported percentage as an industry benchmark.

CIF means the seller arranges carriage and the required insurance to the named destination port, but risk still transfers on board at origin. Its minimum insurance is not necessarily adequate for your shipment. Our purchasing recommendation is to choose the arrangement whose route, exclusions and claims process you can verify; CIF is not automatically safer and FOB is not automatically cheaper.

Use the July 4th planning guide to request delivery milestones alongside prices. The sample supplier profile illustrates capability fields, not an authorized price list. No factory-specific MOQ, price or capacity figures in this guide have been represented as verified quotations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order for a first trial?

There is no confirmed universal quantity. Ask the supplier for the SKU MOQ and the forwarder for a feasible DG shipment; stock, customization and consolidation each change the answer.

Is FOB or CIF better for fireworks?

Compare the accepted route, included charges, insurance and claims handling. Under both FOB and CIF, risk transfers on board at origin; CIF includes seller-arranged freight and required insurance, not guaranteed arrival.

Why do prices vary between factories?

The quotes may describe different units per case, effects, materials, packaging or service scope. Normalize specifications and compare supported compliance and delivered cost before judging a price gap.

Can I get samples before a container order?

Ask for numbered test videos and inspection options first. Physical samples require a confirmed compliant transport arrangement; sample fees and availability need a supplier quote.
