How to Vet a Jiangxi Fireworks Factory Before Your First Order
Licenses, video sampling, third-party audits and trial containers — a due-diligence sequence that filters out 90% of sourcing risk.

Start with licenses. A legitimate export fireworks factory in China holds a Work Safety License (安全生产许可证) covering pyrotechnic production, and is registered with customs as an export fireworks producer (出口烟花爆竹生产企业备案). Ask for scanned copies and cross-check the registered factory address against the audit location.
Next, sample by video. For fireworks, remote sample testing is standard practice: the factory shoots numbered test videos of your selected SKUs — effect height, break symmetry, fuse timing — so you can evaluate performance without shipping Class 1 samples. Physical samples are possible but move as dangerous goods at high cost.
Commission a third-party audit (SGS, BV or TÜV) before the first container. A one-day audit verifies the production lines match the license scope, storage is compliant, and export records are real. Ask the auditor specifically for past export shipment evidence to your target market.
Structure the first order as a trial container with pre-shipment inspection: inspector witnesses loading, verifies carton marks against EX/CE documents, and supervises the container seal. Standard payment terms are 30% deposit by T/T with 70% against the bill-of-lading copy; letters of credit are common for larger programs.
Red flags: quotes far below cluster averages, refusal to show a work-safety license, “we can ship as normal cargo” offers, and storefront photos that do not match the audit site. Each is a reliable predictor of a failed shipment.
